So I was just wanting to go with havnig a week or two backup on the Portable HDD. I am going with that would be up costing way to much in CDs. So I would be backing up about 13GB every week. It is a 40 GB drive and I am using about 12 or 13 GB already. I am planing on a weekly backup of the whole laptop. I guess I did not give the right info as to why I want the boot CD and the image to not be one and the same. I guess to sum it up, I want to make a Norton Ghost Boot CD that gets the image from an external USB or Friewire device. If needed I would use Nero 6 to burn the CD.
The laptop is Windows XP Pro SP2 NTFS format, the Protable HDD is FAT32 format and I can plug it in via USB or Firewire.
I don't have a Floppy on my laptop so a boot disk is no good to me. So what I was wanting to do was to make a Boot CD with Firewire and USB support for my Ghost. I have just got a iomega Portable 60GB HDD to back up my laptop that I use for school.
